My client are a UK market leading, main contractor. Due to an ever-increasing workload, they are currently seeking an experienced Works Manager to join their major projects team. Initially based on a university project in Birmingham, the successful candidate will then cover projects on a national basis.
You will be responsible for ensuring safe working conditions, ensuring materials are available to avoid delay to the project and stored/monitored correctly.
The successful candidate will be responsible for the following:
Managing all aspects of site operations and the performance of site engineers.
Supervising the Site Engineer as well as specialist subcontractors.
Monitoring all trades under your control to ensure all safety requirements are adhered to and that the site remains tidy.
Ensuring that labour resources on site match planned labour requirements.
Monitoring and recording progress of works to assist in/prepare programmes for site activities.
Directing instructions from Client representatives to the Site Manager, prior to taking any action.
Ensuring that the construction division’s Safety Policy is complied with, ensuring that the site team are all aware of their responsibilities in respect of safe working practices.
Ensuring that all individuals on site adhere to health and safety procedures.The successful candidate will have the following credentials:
City & Guilds in a construction/engineering trade
Health and Safety for Supervisors Course (level 2)
SMSTS (Site Management Safety Training Scheme) – CITB 5 day/level 3 course
CIOB Certificate in Site Management
HND or equivalent in construction or related discipline
Trade-related background/Experience
You must have experience in working on-site in relevant trades and supervisory positions, sufficient enough to provide an in-depth understanding of work-stream processes.
Experience of working in a supervisory role in the delivery of high-profile, major projects with a value of at least £15million.For the right candidate, my client are willing to offer a competitive salary + package as well as multiple opportunities to progress.
