Our client is seeking to expand the team by recruiting a new role as a Technical Sales Engineer. Office hub is in Wiltshire but extensive travel in the UK and Germany is expected.
The Technical Sales Engineer should be familiar with day to day sales activities and be able to identify and develop new markets. They will be capable of planning and visiting potential clients and operators and will proactively identify and contact potential leads by telephone, email and using social media. The successful individual will be very willing to learn and be able to accept any guidance provided. They will be self-motivated and driven and be able to work independently without direct supervision in the office and out in the field.
Flexibility and the willingness to learn is essential as is a clean driving licence
The Technical Sales Engineer will be required to work as an integral part of the UK within a team of the UK commercial and technical individuals as well as product support and development personnel based in Germany. They will report is to UK Managing Director and will be based at the UK base when not working in the field
The successful Technical Sales Engineer applicant will be required to attend training and product sessions in Germany on a regular basis. This will be required more regularly initially in order to allow the successful individual to gain product knowledge as quickly as possible. The ability to build strong relationships with colleagues based in Germany is essential.
The successful applicant is also expected to contribute to the completion of industry tenders and quotations as well as contribute to the data gathered and processed and stored, either in the UK or in Germany. This includes following up on orders and order processing
The successful applicant will provide input and participate in marketing exercises such as trade shows, industry forums and press briefs. They will also contribute to provide input into marketing activities and assist with the creation of brochures etc helping to shape UK brochure input and put forward new marketing ideas.
The ability to assist with updating the websites with the latest news, developments and products together with the marketing department in Germany. A degree of lateral thinking and imagination would be of an advantage.
