Senior Project Manager – Construction Contract

The Shore Group have been retained on behalf of a successful main contractor to recruit Senior Project Manager to oversee a selection of construction projects within the Midlands and North of England.

This is a career enhancing opportunity which would suit individuals wishing to progress their career within a high-value projects environment. Reporting to the Operations Director, you will be responsible for both managing and delivering projects within your remit. You will be primarily responsible for managing customer relationships, customer retention and ensuring you are continuously striving to ensure the project runs smoothly. You will be commercially astute with the ability to maximum profit whilst maintaining customer satisfaction.

Due to the nature of the role, you will ideally match the following:

• Currently working for a construction business with a proven track record being involved in large projects of a minimum of £40 Million.
• You will have specific experience project managing construction builds within manufacturing or industrial.
• You must have experience of writing and winning tenders.
• You will have shown commitment to an employer and able to demonstrate through promotion that you are able to grow within a business.
• You MUST have a valid CSCS card.
• You will either be RICS accredited or hold a Quantity Surveying degree.
• Driving license and willing to commute around the Midlands and North of England.

Key Responsibilities:

• Responsible for managing projects team throughout its lifecycle. You will lead and develop staff and ensure your team is coached to high performance.
• Effectively manage both the projects team and the supply chain to deliver projects within agreed timescales.
• Manage relationships with external professionals to ensure project objectives are met.
• Ensure projects are run to agreed cost and quality standards.
• Responsible for ensuring both safety standards and targets are maintained.
• Responsible for ensuring project plans and schedules are vigorous. Ensure project resources and timescales are communicated to the projects team.
• Full understanding of contractual obligations.
• Responsible for managing customer relationship which will include communicating changes and ensuring expectations are managed throughout to maintain strong relations.
• Deal with any post completion issues are dealt with.
• Ensure a detailed audit trail is reported throughout the project. This will include project progress reporting, risks and any other issues.
• Regular reporting to senior management regarding project delivery.
• Act as a key business partner to operations managers, QS department and Cost & bids team.
• Ensure external relationships are maintained to a high level of customer service.
