We are looking for Senior Operations Auditor to join our successful team within an Electrical Trade Wholesaler based out in our head office in Birmingham

This is a fantastic opportunity to join a growing team where you will be focused on branch standards and managing a small field-based Audit team.
The purpose of this role will be to conduct own branch audits and special investigations within the UK and Ireland to protect the Company’s fixed and current assets.
The Role:
To be the point of escalation for Branch Audit Team, managing the Operations Auditors.
Conduct Branch audits and deliver high quality audit reports by examining company systems and records and perform physical/visual checks using the risk-based audit work programme
Discuss findings of the audit with the relevant manager in order to highlight areas for improvement and recommend and obtain agreement on corrective action. Ensure agreed action plans are documented in a detailed audit report submitted to the manager, the Head of Security and the distribution list as defined in the operational audit methodology.
To review and circulate the branch audit reports
Conduct follow up of branch visits
Provide support to the business for the development and implementation of new branch processes/systems.
Regularly review existing branch processes, identifying improvements and efficiencies.
To establish monitoring procedures, producing data from Company systems to highlight specific risks / weaknesses
Identify, develop and recommend new ways of investigating branch/business performance in order to continually improve the quality and scope of the current audit methodology.
Proactively obtain required data from business systems. Conduct an analysis to identify areas of risk, and then investigate further to identify causes and propose solutions to minimise risk to the business.
The Person:
Experience in internal audit is essential
Existing management experience would be advantageous but not essential
National wide travel is an essential part of this role so you must be happy travelling daily.
A thorough working knowledge of Balance sheets and related Profit & Loss accounts, field audit experience and comprehensive understanding of business cycles, including at a branch level.
Working knowledge and experience of accounting policies and procedures. A detailed understanding and working knowledge of Business Process Re-engineering with proven experience.
Good communicator, self-reliant, organised, able to work to deadlines and use a variety of analytical skills.
