Our client is currently seeking to appoint a Senior CAD Technician
The successful candidate will be expected to work within a team under supervision, preparing drawings to deliver innovative structural engineering solutions for both new-build and refurbishment projects.
The work will primarily be office-based and will cover a variety of projects including small and large scale refurbishments, various size new-build projects in traditional materials including masonry, timber, steel and reinforced concrete. These services will be provided for our clients’ residential, commercial, educational, retail, industrial, health and leisure schemes.
The ideal candidate:
Should be able to demonstrate that they are a quick learner, with proven initiative to work within a team; be a good communicator and be organised.
Have relevant industry experience, with direct emphasis on buildings and structural engineering; be able to work as part of a team and have a personal commitment to work to tight deadlines while under pressure.
Candidates applying should possess a relevant engineering qualification, HNC or equivalent. It is essential to have a comprehensive working knowledge of AutoCAD and be able to demonstrate previous experience of REVIT.In addition, candidates must be able to demonstrate a working knowledge of a minimum of three of the following fields:
The production of general arrangement drawings in all the usual structural materials.
Refurbishment and modifications to existing/historic buildings.
Reinforced concrete detailing and scheduling.
Traditional masonry detailing.
3D structural modelling.
Roads and underground drainage.Responsibilities:
The priorities of this role will include:
Being a member of a team responsible for the delivery of a wide range of development projects.
Assisting with the preparation and understanding structural engineering drawings at all stages including concept, building regulations, tender and construction.
Working with engineers to translate outline engineering proposals to detailed design drawings, understanding the relationship between the project disciplines.
Reading and coordinating with the Architectural and other design discipline drawings and liaising with the Architect and the other design disciplines.
Managing the delivery of individual tasks or activities to program and budget.
Taking part in key project control procedures such as drawing issue and registration
