The role Shoosmiths are looking for a Recruitment Specialist to join our award-winning recruitment team, who will be tasked with finding the very best talent for our legal Practice teams across the firm. We are looking for someone who wants to make a real impact through attracting talent that will ultimately help achieve Shoosmiths’ vision of being the number 1 National UK Law Firm famous for its client experience. Main responsibilities * To drive the end to end recruitment of entry level and lateral practice roles through the delivery of an effective, efficient and innovative recruitment service. * To take ownership of the recruitment of paralegals, conveyancers, legal assistants, legal executives as well support the wider recruitment team. * Creation of recruiting plans, job descriptions and advertisements and conduct regular update meetings with hiring managers. * To determine and deliver appropriate direct sourcing methods for vacancies including marketing, utilising talent pools and head-hunting. * Review applications and conduct screening interviews for vacancies in line with agreed SLA’s. * Building networks to develop talent communities and pools of passive candidates in advance of needs, and maintain regular contact with possible candidates, particularly including the use of social media. * To promote internal employee referral networks and champion internal mobility. * Support the development of Shoosmiths employer brand and position in the local market as an ’employer of choice’. * Research and recommend new sources for active and passive candidate sourcing. * Producing a variety of reports to assess job board effectiveness, agency performance, time-to-hire, etc. * Continuously evaluating and updating the selection methods utilized across the firm. * Maintaining and building the relationships with recruitment agencies and supporting the wider team PSL reviews and agency meetings. Skills and qualifications * Previous recruitment experience is essential, gained either in-house or within an agency environment. * Extensive candidate sourcing and interview experience. * Proven experience to effectively communicate and collaborate with a diverse range of people and job functions. * In addition to being organised and analytical, we require strong business judgement and negotiation skills. * Experience in volume based recruitment and selection is preferred. * Exceptional written and verbal communication skills; time management skills, detail oriented, and the ability to handle multiple priorities. * Excellent knowledge of Microsoft Office, specifically Word, Excel and Outlook. * Knowledge and interest in social media platforms e.g. Facebook, Twitter, LinkedIn. * Expectation of complete confidentiality on all business matters. * The ability to work as part of a team, but also able to be self-motivated and able to work on own initiative. * Previous legal or professional services sector experience and an existing network in the legal / recruitment sector would be advantageous.
