PROJECT ENGINEER FIRE SPRINKLERS
JOB TYPE: Permanent
SALARY/RATE: £35,000 – £50,000 per annum
LOCATION: Birmingham, Slough, Manchester

THE ROLE – Project Engineer – Fire
Prepare and forecast for engineering and technical activities relating to the project.
Provide technical specifications to support any subcontract or purchase order production.
Carry out site surveys
Keep to budgets by costing for materials efficiently
Liaise technically with subcontractors, Construction Managers and Site Managers
Ensure technical compliance to the contract; make Project Manager aware of any non-compliance.
Provide design, drawings, and test specifications.
Provide regular update reports to the project manager on the technical designs and technical statuses.
Provide technical response to queries and requests for information.
Provide the technical assessment of any project changes.
Complete drawings.
Sufficient technical knowledge and awareness of details to be able to recognize where technical problems may occur and report to the Project Manager.
YOU
2-3 years’ experience in providing technical support to projects in the M&E and Fire sector.
Have been involved in projects up to £1M.
Be customer-focussed and represent the company up to standard
Communication skills to provide clear and concise instructions to the team.
Strong negotiating skills.
Work independently with minimal guidance; understand when to escalate an issue.
Strong organisation skills, able to effectively prioritise and execute tasks.
Can-do approach and efficient at solving problems.
Strong people skills.
Written performance reports
A working knowledge of HSEQ and able to provide Method Statements for the work.
OTHER REQUIREMENTS
Hold a formal Engineering Qualification in an appropriate discipline is desirable. Depth and breadth of experience will be taken into account where these qualifications have not been attained.
Competent and proficient understanding of Microsoft Packages, in particular word and excel.
Capable of reading drawings and schematics
