Production Engineer Full Time

* An established manufacturer of bathroom fittings based in Digbeth are looking to recruit an experienced Production Engineer.
Role

This is a permanent position that starts immediately.
Duties:
* Working with design, engineering, production and quality Teams to review products where there are production/quality issues (primarily focussed on Stage 2 production) and identify design changes to improve the production method and/or reduce the cost.
* Ensuring that all of the tooling, jigs, fixtures and equipment are in place to make the product using the new method.
* Looking at the production processes using lean methodologies to develop the best cell layout and support systems to improve efficiency and flow.
* Creation of standard operating proceedures and the manufacturing data package to enable the production team to make the product accurately on the shop floor.
* Overseeing the new product handover process from design to production.
* Oversee the NCR system.
* Train employees on the production method required for new products and product changes.
Requirements:
* Educated to at least HNC or equivalent in an engineering discipline and/or a time served apprenticeship.
* Good knowledge of manufacturing/assembly processes and tooling.
* Understanding of lean manufacturing methodologies.
* Familiar with ERP packages.
Hours:
* Hours of work are 7.30am to 4.30pm Monday to Thursday 7.30am to 12.30pm Friday
