Counterbalance FLT/Overhead Crane Operator / Birmingham / £8.50 per hour / Temp to perm

We are currently on the lookout for an experienced Material Handler / Overhead Crane Operative to join a large steel firm located in Birmingham on a temp to perm basis.

As an Overhead Crane Operative you will be responsible for operating an overhead crane to manoeuvre steel stock around the workplace, loading and unloading machinery and vehicles. Your regular duties would include, but would not be limited to;

• Operating overhead cranes and counterbalance forklift trucks to move steel
• Loading and unloading steel from vehicles
• Marking material with works information
• Loading and unloading machinery
• Keeping factory organised, clean & tidy
• Adhering to strict health and safety guidelines at all times
• BENEFICIAL TO HAVE LICENCES FOR OVERHEAD CRANE AND COUNTERBALANCE FLT

To be considered for this role you must be an experienced Material Handler / Overhead Crane Operative with recent experience coming from within the steel industry. It would be beneficial to have BOTH a valid in-date Overhead Crane Licence and counterbalance FLT licence.

Working hours for this role would be straight days, 7:30am – 4:30pm with an early finish on Fridays paying £8.50 per hour.
