Management Accountant Permanent

Our client based in Stoke on Trent has a fantastic opportunity for an experienced Management Accountant to their highly successful and long-established manufacturing company.

Job Description:

You will assist and support management making the right decisions to operate and continue to grow their business.

The Management Accountant will be reporting into the Director and the Group Divisional Accountant. You will be someone who enjoys a challenge and enjoys getting involved with the wider team, from coaching the current management team, dealing with costings, liaising with the sales team to oversee quotes, bids and putting a cost profile in place. You will have a large amount of training and support from the Group Divisional Accountant to ensure you have all the tools necessary to be successful in this role. There is scope for future progression into a Directorship role for the successful candidate.

For the Management Accountant role, you’ll be getting involved in:

• Forecasting “cost to complete” complex and long duration orders for accurate revenue recognition calculation of cost rates
• Budgeting
• Preparation and explanation of monthly accounts
• Interfacing with all levels of management from shop floor to directors
• Stock inventory control
• Dealing with the auditors and their requirements.
• You have two Accounts Assistants directly reporting in to you

For the Management Accountant role, the ideal candidate will:

• Have a strong manufacturing background; experienced in costings, labour utilisation etc
• Have previous experience managing a team would be an advantage, this role will require you to coach the current management team and also has direct reports.
• It would be great to see an individual who has hands on experience within getting into the thick of it within manufacturing
• Someone with an inquisitive mind who likes to investigate and can pick things up quickly and work with the team to understand the challenges.
• Someone who enjoys a challenge
• Someone who can stand alone in a role – there will be suberb support and mentoring in the role form the senior team also.

Hours: Monday to Friday, 9.00am – 5.00pm or 8.00am – 4.00pm
