Dynamic and progressive FTSE250 business seeks a Junior Software Developer | Graduate Software Developer to join their development team. This is a great opportunity to join a growing Agile development team to develop both modern and existing web and mobile applications using the latest technologies. The role would primarily use Microsoft products / tools such as Visual Studio, ASP.NET MVC / Web API, C#, MS SQL & IIS.
Salary: £20,000 to £25,000 plus package, to include: 24 days annual leave (plus 8 bank holidays), share plans, company pension, private medical insurance, flexible benefits, free secure parking, funding for relevant qualifications, training and development
Location: North Birmingham, West Midlands – commutable from Birmingham, Sutton Coldfield, Walsall, Coventry, Nuneaton, Dudley, Solihull, Tamworth, Lichfield, Wolverhampton, and surrounding areas.
As the Junior Software Developer | Graduate Software Developer, you will be responsible for or involved in:
Assist in the design, coding and testing of technical solutions
Support and maintain existing web applications
Produce documentation such as technical specifications, implementation plans and technical diagrams
Follow common coding standards to ensure consistent code-base
Work closely with other members of Agile teams to ensure successful deliverables on a regular basis
Ensure high standards of code quality are met, utilising multiple testing techniques such as automated and functional
Follow Extreme Programming practices such as pair programming, integration testing and code review
Contribute to the department’s ways of working by suggesting, and implementing, continuous improvement initiatives
The technical competencies associated with the Junior Software Developer | Graduate Software Developer are as follows:
Knowledge/ experience of ASP.NET MVC/ WEB API/ C# / Entity Framework (LINQ) is essential
Knowledge/ experience of MS SQL, T-SQL, SSIS is required
The following are desirable:
HTML5, JavaScript & CSS3
Java, J2EE, JSP, JDBC, Struts, Tomcat, ANT
Development of mobile applications using HTML5 (and / or) Xamarin.
TDD / BDD approaches
Knowledge or experience of Node.js , Angular.js, Bootstrap
Awareness of Agile methodologies
