Health And Safety Advisor/ Manager Permanent

We are currently working with a well-established, local construction company that have an opportunity for an experienced, reliable and self-motivated Health & Safety Advisor to join their team and to develop the H&S culture within the business.

Key Responsibilities

• Interpret project contractual and statutory requirements and obligations through both the pre-construction and construction phases of projects
• Responsible for advising on overall compliance in matters of Health & Safety on site in accordance with Company policy, ISO standards and relevant statutory provisions.
• Maintain core areas of expertise and impart knowledge to aid the development, training and mentoring of others as well as delivering Health & Safety induction programmes for new employees or contractors working on site; as well as refresher training and advising the management team in respect to H&S.
• Updating and improving company Health and Safety policies and documentation, Producing Construction Health and Safety Plans and associated supporting documentation, maintain records, registers and data as required.
• Advising / assisting Site Management in drafting and communicating Risk Assessment Method Statements (RAMS), ensuring they are completed in a timely manner
• Support the investigation of accidents, incidents and near miss events to identify and share lessons learned.
• Chair safety meetings, both with the workforce and supply chain.

Key Skills and Requirements

• You will be a seasoned, highly experienced and qualified Health & Safety professional with extensive knowledge of managing health and safety within the construction industry with a proven record of achieving key results.
• As a Health and Safety Manager you will have deep technical knowledge of health and safety legislation and keep up to date with legislative changes, be NEBOSH certified, a Member of IOSH and hold a Relevant CSCS Card.
• The successful candidate will have excellent communication skills both written and verbal to deliver key safety messages, have good problem-solving skills and strong Microsoft office skills.
• You will be self-motivated, flexible, with the ability to work under pressure accurately on an independent basis always giving attention to detail.
• The successful candidate will have a positive attitude and work ethic with the ability to develop ongoing relationships.
