Head of People Strategy & Services
Salary: £70,844 – £77,005 per annum

The Legal Ombudsman is looking for a Head of People Strategy & Servicesto join its existing HR team. The organisation and management team are fully supportive of the impact HR can bring, if you are an effective leader with a passion for HR this is the right place for you.
This is a wide-ranging HR role in a non-civil service Arm’s Length Body (ALB) of the Ministry of Justice (MoJ), with a workforce of around 260 people.
This role will lead and develop people services in accordance with (ALB) organisational people policies and priorities, and ensure that they are efficient, and focus. With responsibility for:

The ideal candidate will have full CIPD membership, have demonstrable experience in a similar role and be confident in their ability to lead an effective HR team and influence effectively across the organisation.
This role reports into the Chief Operating Officer and will be a key member of the Executive Team.
We are looking for a collaborative and innovative HR professional who can develop and implement HR strategies, which enable the organisation to effectively manage the full HR spectrum. This will include, but not be limited to recruitment, complex employee relations, change management, performance management, policy development, training and development.
You will be a natural leader with the ability to motivate and inspire your team through coaching and leading by example. You will need to be able to foster good working relationships with the existing team and ensure changes are inclusive and well managed.
As part of this role you will need to be confident in your ability to communicate at all levels of the organisation as well as externally and at Board level. Your high level of personal resilience will enable you to remain calm under pressure with the ability to think and act strategically, developing practical and innovative solutions.
By having the ability to work flexibly you will manage tasks effectively according to priority. You will be able to quickly develop, nurture and maintain strong working relationships with internal and external stakeholders. Your strong written and verbal communication skills will allow you to present HR information clearly.
