Financial Controller Permanent

This Financial Controller vacancy presents a great career progression opportunity to be ‘no.1’ in finance for the leasing and funding division of a highly successful international group. Reporting to the Divisional Managing Director and the Group Financial Controller, this role requires a qualified accountant (ACA / ACCA or equivalent) with excellent technical accounting and compliance skills along with robust business partnering capability.

What will you be doing?

Leading a small team you will be responsible for all finance processes and procedures including reporting, compliance, balance sheet reconciliations, cashflow management and forecasting. There is great opportunity to improve processes and procedures through systems and people development to ensure robust governance and financial controls.

In addition to providing timely, accurate and compliant financial reporting you will be supporting the Managing Director and the leadership team in achieving the business growth agenda, balancing risk and opportunities whilst also ensuring adequate capital / cash is in place to support the business.

The role will require and agile and flexible approach with regular travel between the companies UK operations in the West Midlands and Greater London – it is anticipated that the successful candidate will balance their priorities with a blend of office based and remote working (typically 1 day per week from home).

What are we looking for?

The successful candidate must be a qualified accountant with experience of working in the financial services sector, ideally within the capital equipment leasing sector.  In addition we seek the following attributes and experience:

• Prior experience of working at Finance Manager or controller level
• Strong technical accounting skills with proven ability of improving processes and procedures
• Cash management / working capital experience
• Great IT / systems skills
• Proven stakeholder management and business partnering skills at senior level with great communication skills and the ability to influence decisions

The successful candidate will enjoy working for a great company backed by the assets of a multi-billion turnover group. There will be a competitive salary of up to £60,000 plus car allowance and pension.
