An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Financial Accounts Supervisor to join the Bakkavor Bread team based at Aston. This is a varied role that has overall responsibility for the financial accounts department, incorporating all ledgers and includes the management of three team members.

In this role you will be required to -

Manage, coach and develop three permanent members of staff

• 2 x Purchase Ledger
• 1 x Sales Ledger / Bank

Develop and maintain an appropriate level of financial control, for example

• Supplier statement reconciliations
• Review of debit balances on the purchase ledger
• Ageing of balances, debtor & creditor days etc
• Maintenance of master data - exchange rates, project codes etc
• Adherence to agreed spend authorisation matrix

Undertake responsibility for the company's cash position

• 18-week cash flow forecast, including analysis
• Reporting & analysing actual weekly cash position
• Process weekly BACS payments and bank transfers in accordance with company procedures and within cashflow targets as forecasted
• Ensure all manual payments are allocated to the purchase ledger

Ensure Adherence to and Control of Vendor Maintenance

• New vendor setups and authorisation procedure
• Vendor maintenance (master data changes) and authorisation procedure

Undertake month end responsibilities within tight group reporting deadlines, including

• Prepayments
• Accruals for logged invoices
• Posting other Fixed and Reversing Journals
• Agreeing Inter Company Balances
• Review of Bank & Cash Reconciliations
• Reconciliation of key balance sheet control accounts

Other Financial Accounting tasks including

• Archiving of P/L invoices via third party online archiving system
• Downloads from ordering systems and distribution within the team
• Agency labour invoice reconciliations and query management
