Finance Officer

Purpose of the Job

To provide finance support to Coventry and Warwickshire Mind, working closely with the Head of Finance and the Finance Officer.

Key responsibilities include:

• To work alongside the Head of Finance in the day-to-day management of all financial matters within Coventry and Warwickshire Mind.
• To follow procedures and maintain systems for the management of all financial matters, including external and internal invoicing, cash handling, etc.
• To ensure all invoices are raised promptly, accurately and the appropriate credit controls are in place to ensure prompt payment received.
• To ensure all housing benefit payments are recorded and analysed appropriately.
• To ensure all packages of support are invoiced within agreed timescales and payments received are monitored and where appropriate issues escalated.
• To support the development of processes and procedures for managing monies received through income generation and other initiatives.
• To ensure all incoming invoices are recorded in the accounting system and that suppliers are paid within agreed credit terms.
• To adhere to financial controls as necessary to an organisation the size of CW Mind

Essential criteria includes:

• Proven track record of working in finance.
• Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
• Excellent team working skills.
• Excellent computer literacy skills.
• Excellent time management, planning and organisational skills
• Ability to work as a team or individually and on own initiative.
• Strong attention to detail at all times.
