Prosper Recruitment are working in partnership with a Tier 1 Construction Organisation who are looking to recruit a D&I Manager to be responsible for the implementation of the Diversity and Inclusion Strategy for the central region and to translate the group D&I Strategy into a working plan for operation within the region. Reporting into the Head of HR remote working is available but the successful candidate will need to be geographically placed to attend meetings in their South Yorkshire and West Midlands offices when required
The successful individual will be working within the region to imbed D&I within the region and sell the key benefits including and not limited to:
Targeted comms to ensure all individuals have access and the ability to participate
Improve work life balance by looking at innovative working solutions
Better access to recruitment markets and improve internal career opportunities
Training and education on D&I
Management of stats and data on D&I
Create and support a social media strategy for D&I
As internal facing D&I manager you will be working alongside the HR team
Create and develop D&I plan internally with HR Department
Define new terms of reference for D&I groups
Define the programme of work internally
Advise L&D/Recruitment on D&I plan and requirements
Look at all aspects of D&I i.e., Social Mobility, Mental Health etc to ensure the client is being as diverse and inclusive as possible as well as raising status externally of the client as a Diverse and Inclusive Employer
Tap into personal network and build relationships and liaise with external Awarding D&I organisations to start to work towards accreditations etc.
Establish and set up steering groups
Liaising and advising senior stakeholders within the business on various D&I aspects
This role will play a vital part in changing the culture of the region in embracing D&I activities. The postholder will have an opportunity to work with the MD of Central region and Head of HR to make a positive change to the region for all individuals.
The embracing of D&I to a traditional construction company will be a challenge. The postholder will have the ability to deliver the strategy with short-, medium- and long-term goals. The individual will have the skillset to be about to influence key stakeholders within the region and support the D&I strategy in practice at a local level.
The postholder will be able to work flexibly to achieve the goals but will also need to meet and engage with individuals across the region as and when required.
Ideally educated to degree level but experience with working in D&I is essential. The successful candidate will have previous experience in creating and delivering a D&I strategy.
