My client one of the most highly regarded names in the commercial insurance market has an opportunity for a Property and Casualty focused Development Underwriter to join their business through a positive period of development and growth for the business.
This role is a home based position combined with time spent visiting brokers’ across the South West regions with occasional meetings in the Birmingham office.
Key Responsibilities
Developing new business from both existing and new brokers within your region
Proactively developing a prospect list of appropriate new business opportunities, ensuring that pipeline is managed and followed through
Provide excellent service to brokers through consistent, timely, and proactive approach to underwriting
To create new broker relationships
Deliver monthly and annual targets
Serve as guide and/or referral point for junior Underwriters.
Develop effective working relationships with the Underwriting Centre and regional colleagues to support delivery of targeted objectives
Meeting and where possible, exceeding brokers service levels and expectations.
Skills and qualities you will need
Solid/proven underwriting experience is required; the ideal candidate will have proven experience within property and casualty insurance.
Able to demonstrate outstanding interpersonal, communication and negotiation skills
Cert CII qualification desirable but not necessary
Excellent phone manner
Strong communication skills, resilience, confidence, a solid work ethic and enthusiasm
