Data Protection Officer 6 Months Fixed Term Contract £40,000 pro rata Birmingham Full Time
The client is looking for a Data Protection Officer to come on-board and get involved in the controls of the organisation’s records and materials.
The organisation is currently in the process of updating their IT infrastructure which includes the implementation of a new document management system and a new case management system.
The Role: *You will be reviewing and re-writing all data protection and records management policies. *Overall responsibility for policy and guidance relating to the management and control of all the organisations records and materials. *Ensuring policy, guidance and practices are up to date *Raising awareness across the organisation with respect to data protection, freedom of information and records management and embedding good practice. *Provide appropriate advice, support and guidance to the wider organisation.
Essential: * Educated to degree level or equivalent, or having experience that demonstrates the intellectual ability associated with the educational requirement. *Experience of Data Protection and Freedom of Information legislation *Experience of developing and implementing policy and guidance. *Knowledge and understanding of records management, casework and business administration, and how this applies to casework. *Practical knowledge and experience of database software such as Microsoft Office – ability to pick up mew applications quickly and thoroughly. *High level analytical skills and experience of analysing complex issues including researching, investigating and specifying solutions.
