A great opportunity for a Birmingham site based project Construction Manager for an established progressive building contractor.
A project Construction Manager is required for a large scale commercial construction project for completion within a 3 year timeframe.You will be involved from the pre- construction stages, Involved in the procurement and tender process and will be very much client facing, responsible for Health and Safety, Programme of Works, achieving strict KPI’s and delivery.
The Construction Manager is assigned to ensure that all relevant goals are met.
The site will be an environmental exemplar project and the Construction Manager will be required to deliver the construction package on time, to budget, and to specification.
The successful candidate will be able to effectively manage all aspects of the construction of; a 170 bed hotel, a 2000 person education centre, access road and office complex on a prominent site in central Birmingham.
The Construction Manager will report to the Project Manager, and will be required to manage a team of Site Managers, sub-contractors, and suppliers.
The successful candidate will be able to demonstrate a firm understanding of Site Health & Safety Policies, Practices and Procedures and be fully complacent with all the necessary site contract information, including cost control and planning.
Be able to problem solve, possess excellent interpersonal skills as well as being able to manage staff, Sub Contractors and Specialist Service providers, meet on-going customer requirements, attend monthly progress meetings with the client, produce maintenance timescales and planners and ensuring site compliance as well as assisting with financial forecasting, divisional Profit & Loss, divisional growth and continuous improvement management..
You will be responsible for ensuring work runs smoothly within a challenging time scale whilst adhering and checking Health & Safety Policies and completing Risk Assessments, Method Statements and all other relevant documentation required for a working site.
The Construction Manager shall have demonstrable skills in current Cost Control techniques of a similar nature and magnitude, Experience of delivering similar schemes valued up to £50m.
The successful candidate will be appropriately qualified, ideally with a BSc (hons) Degree in Building Studies or equivalent or at the very minimum an NVQ 5 in Project Management and hold a current CSCS card. You will be dynamic with excellent communication and man management skills with the ability to hold client meetings and plan programs of work.
To qualify for this exciting opportunity the Company are seeking an experienced Construction Manager.
The successful individual will also have a proven track record of composing project plans and will be IT literate.
