Commercial Accountant Permanent

Astute Financial Recruitment is working in partnership with a leading business seeking to hire a Commercial Accountant & for their finance team.

Reporting into the Financial Controller, you will aid in the production of timely and accurate financial information & provide priceless financial support to the managers of the business.

The role:

• You will be the main contact for new contract bids/tenders.
• Provision of timely and accurate financial information and metrics to aid in & continuously challenge the financial performance of the business.
• Financial support to Management both internal and external to the finance team.
• Management of monthly business area finance review.
• Conduct of periodic finance reviews with department managers & other business stakeholders.
• Continuous improvement of processes, procedures and business performance.
• Management of 1 direct report, this member of staff is a real ‘rising star’ and my client are looking for someone who can nurture their career.
• Conducting contract reviews and have a thorough understanding of the financial implications.
• Ad hoc financial and non financial support to local management

This role will suit someone with the following:

• Qualified Accountant (CIMA/ACCA/CA)
• Minimum of 2 years finance experience
• Excellent Communicator with a proven ability to build relationships at all levels across the business
• Attention to detail and have a ‘right first time’ attitude
• Ability to produce and present business cases/reports
• Self-motivated and flexible individual who is a strong team player
• Proactive approach to identification and resolution of improvement opportunities
• Ability to adapt to change quickly and prioritise multiple demands
• Ability to understand the business strategy and make decisions within the context of the bigger picture
• Up to date working knowledge and experience of current Accounting Regulations

• Experience of ERP systems, Microsoft Office packages, particularly excel
