My client, a market leading main contractor currently have a requirement for an Assistant Quantity Surveyor to join their midlands-based commercial team. For the successful candidate this is an excellent opportunity to join a leading construction company with a busy project workload, offering excellent opportunities for progression and exposure to innovative and exciting projects.
To be successful in this role, you will have experience of working within the UK construction market (preferable within a blue-chip main contractor) as either a Graduate Quantity Surveyor or a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, with experience of working on projects with values of over £5 million.
Responsibilities include:
Assisting the commercial team in the smooth running of the commercial/contractual aspects of a project and setting strategies to minimise risks and maximise on opportunities to profit.
Supporting the project delivery team through providing commercial expertise.
Delivering consistent value and cost reporting, as required for Business Unit and Project control and review.
Maintaining cost control systems for demonstration to clients (where required)
Working with the estimating/pre construction team and providing support towards work-winning/bids.To be successful in this role, you will have the following credentials:
Experience in working as a Trainee or Graduate Quantity Surveyor within the UK-construction market (preferably within a blue-chip, main contractor)
Degree educated, or equivalent within Quantity Surveying or another relevant discipline.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
