The Institute of Mechanical Engineers
Home Based (Yorkshire and Humberside area)
Are you a passionate admin professional with a background in apprenticeships gained in further education or with a training provider? Could you see yourself driving apprenticeship assessments and supporting apprentices through their End Point Assessment? If so, read on.
With over 115,000 members in 140 countries, the Institution of Mechanical Engineers (IMechE) has been at the heart of the mechanical engineering profession since 1847.
We strive to improve the world through engineering by developing engineers, promoting engineering, informing opinion and encouraging innovation.
We’re now looking for a talented and proactive Apprenticeships Administrator from an apprenticeship background to join us in a home-based capacity within the Yorkshire and Humberside area.
As an Apprenticeships Administrator, you will be tasked with supporting End Point Assessments (EPA) for engineering apprenticeships.
At the end of every apprenticeship, an assessment is required to take place prior to the apprentice receiving their qualification. This takes the form of an assessment and is carried out by a third-party organisation. As the recognised, official Mechanical Engineering Institution, we work alongside the awarding body, EAL, to complete the EPA at the end of apprenticeships.
You will play a critical role in supporting and co-ordinating the process, acting as the go-to point of contact for many employers, training providers and colleges and their apprenticeship programmes.
Working with corporations and companies of all sizes across the UK, you will take a proactive, decisive approach, acting as the interface between the industry, education institutions, training providers and external parties. You will provide administrative and EPA support, assist assessors and provide active, professional communications to all parties as required.
Although by no means a standalone role, you will be expected to take the initiative and ensure that EPA processes continue without the need for constant supervision.
This Apprenticeships Administrator role requires a dedicated individual who can work on their own initiative, self-motivate and take a proactive stance in order to keep processes moving.
You will also need:
– Experience of working in an administrative role in a highly customer-focused environment
– Experience of working with apprenticeship schemes within further education or a private provider
– A good level of IT literacy including proficiency with Microsoft Office suite of programs
– Competency with CRMs, CMS tools and databases
– Passion for good customer experiences and delivering fantastic apprenticeship outcomes
Other organisations may call this role End Point Assessment Administrator, EPA Administrator, Apprenticeship Co-ordinator, Apprenticeship Administrator, EPA Co-ordinator, or Apprenticeship Support Administrator.
– Salary of circa £23,000
– 26 days’ holiday per annum plus Bank Holidays
– An extra day off for your birthday
– Benefits including stakeholder pension scheme, life assurance and private health cover
– Continuous training and career development
– A range of wellbeing benefits to encourage a healthy work-life balance
This role represents a phenomenal opportunity to join one of the leading engineering institutes and support the next generation of engineers to graduate from their apprenticeships into the professional engineering world.
You will have the chance to play a vital role in delivering apprentice assessments and will significantly enhance your portfolio of experience. Gaining exposure to a wide variety of organisations, including some of the biggest household names, you will have the chance to cement IMechE as the key organisation in the apprenticeship process.
What’s more, we will provide a comprehensive induction and continuing support from a dispersed team to ensure you can make a success of your role and enjoy your professional life.
Thank you for your interest in this post. We look forward to receiving your application.
Interviews will be held on an ad hoc basis as suitable applicants apply. An immediate start is available for the right candidate.
